The Credit Information Bureau "Ishenim"™ operates in strict compliance with international practice. Two fundamental ethical principles are ensured by it Charter and membership agreement.
First, Ishenim guarantees absolute neutrality to its members. No participant receives any advantage as against any other. Similarly, information offered to any member is made available to all.
Second, the CIB functions on the basis of reciprocity, meaning that only participants are entitled to benefit from the services offered. This arrangement is vital to maintaining the integrity of information shared between the Bureau and its members, a fact signified by the logo (i.e., the exchange of data within a closed circle).
Membership in the data-exchange system is realized by written agreement. The member's basic obligations under the contract are:
- to include a consent clause in its loan agreement - this arrangement is necessary to avoid violation of the duty of banking secrecy
- to designate one or more persons responsible for sending and receiving credit information, and to make them available for trainings
- to present accurate data, in a timely manner
- to pay entrance and annual fees (if applicable) and monthly invoices in a timely manner
- to respect Ishenim's intellectual-property rights in the licensed software
